Tickets guide
How to get tickets
Everything you need to know about the official ticket ballot for the Cricket World Cup 2027, and how to stay safe from scams.
The ballot in four steps
- 01
Register on the official site
Create a free account on the official tournament ticketing site. No payment is taken to enter the ballot.
- 02
Pick your matches
Apply once per match for as many matches as you like. It is not first-come, first-served, so there is no need to rush.
- 03
Wait for the ballot
Where demand is higher than the number of seats, a random ballot decides who gets the chance to buy.
- 04
Check your email
Everyone who applied is told by email whether they were successful. Successful applicants get instructions on how to pay for their tickets.

How to avoid ticket scams
- Only buy from the official ticketing site. Type the address yourself rather than clicking links in messages or ads.
- Ignore "guaranteed" tickets offered on social media, WhatsApp groups or classified sites, especially for India v Pakistan and the final.
- Never pay by bank transfer, gift card or crypto to an individual seller.
- Be wary of lookalike websites. Many scam sites use "World Cup" and "tickets" in their names. A real ticket seller will be named on the official tournament site.
- Check the official FAQ about ticket transfers and resale before buying from anyone else.
Tips for a better chance
- Apply for a mix of matches. Group games between smaller teams, and matches in Paarl, Bloemfontein, KuGompo City, Bulawayo or Windhoek, are likely to be less oversubscribed than the big-city blockbusters.
- Plan travel around your tickets, not the other way round. Book flexible or free-cancellation accommodation until you know which matches you've got.
- Keep your email address up to date and check your spam folder for ballot results.
Ticket FAQs
Does this website sell tickets?
No. We are an independent fan guide and do not sell, resell or reserve tickets. Tickets for the Cricket World Cup 2027 are only available through the official tournament ticketing website.
When does the ticket ballot close?
According to the tournament organisers, the ballot is open until 23:59 CAT on 21 November 2026, exactly one year before the final.
Is the ballot first-come, first-served?
No. Each person can apply once per match. If a match is oversubscribed, a randomised ballot decides who can buy, so applying on the last day gives you the same chance as applying on the first.
How much do tickets cost?
Prices are set by the organisers and shown on the official ticketing site. Prices differ by match and seating area, and group games are usually much cheaper than the knockout matches.
Can I buy tickets from social media sellers or resale sites?
We strongly advise against it. Tickets from unofficial sellers may be fake, cancelled or refused at the gate. Only use the official ticketing site and any official resale platform it names.
Which matches will be hardest to get?
Based on past tournaments, expect India v Pakistan (Wanderers, 10 October), the opening match India v Australia (Newlands, 7 October), the semi-finals and the final to be the most oversubscribed.
