How qualification works
The hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe qualified automatically. The eight other highest-ranked teams in the ICC ODI rankings at the cut-off date took the next eight places. The last four places go through a qualifying tournament in Namibia and South Africa in early 2027.
One team from the qualifier goes straight into the groups. The other three play a short Super Series in Windhoek from 2 October, and the winner takes the last group place. Together these fill the Qualifier A and Qualifier B slots. Co-host Namibia is an Associate member, so it has to earn its place through the qualifier. Our format explainer covers how it all works.
